Al Abbar specializes in sandblasted glass. Sandblasting is a process of sending a jet of special powder onto a surface of glass or mirror. The surface of glass becomes opaque in the places exposured to the jet of powder. Therefore by covering some pars of the glass it is possible get all kind of design on glass surface.

Sandblasting design gallery

There are two main types of sandblasting - according to opaqued areas. The first one is to matt entire glass surface leaving the design clear, which you can see on the picture on the left side

The other way of applying sandblasting to the glass is to sandblast design area and leave the rest clear like you can see on the picture on the right side

There is also special technique to apply sandblasting using different layers. First step is to apply sandblasting according to the first layer of the design, then the process is applied once again on the second layer and is called deep sandblasting. The efects gives the possibility to express more shapes to give the design sophistication.
